Active tourism: mountains, rivers, lakes
2014-04-16

The mountains in the Sącz and Gorlice area, Beskid Sądecki and Low Beskids, are fairly low ranges that enable balanced exercise. In the summer, tourists are encouraged to hike along their mild ranges, offering beautiful landscape of the near-by valleys. If you prefer a sheer thrill, you can always head out to a ropes course and try canoeing or rafting down the Poprad. You could also try water sports on Rożnowski and Klimkówka lakes. In winter, the place turns into ski area: 10 ski stations, 100 km of fall line ski paths, cross-country ski paths. All centres are equipped with modern infrastructure, there are rental places and ski repair shops as well as regional inns with the local cuisine. "Snowy routes through the woods" in Krzywa (within the area of Magura Małastowska mountain in Gorlice county) are particularly recommended for cross-country skiers.

Two large horse ranches in Regietów and Gładyszów offer friendly horses of the Hucul breed to take for a ride. You can also take the Transbeskid Horse Trail, which leads through the mountains. Additionally, there are many smaller stables by agritourism farms. The marked bicycle routes lead through the region’s most attractive places. Nature lovers are astonished by the Magura National Park and the Poprad Landscape Park.
