Today, Lemko chyże, i.e. traditional wooden huts, enchant many tourists with their shape, as if designed with a view to a gentle landscape of the Low Beskids. Few of them have survived in mountain villages, but in Bartne we can see quite a lot of them, in addition, most of them are still inhabited. Built of wooden logs, using the full scribe method, they are covered with pitched roofs – but traditional shingles have been usually replaced with tin. This high and steep roof covered not only a residential area, but also rooms for animals kept in the farm.
