Hidden in the shade of big trees, the tiny St. Jacob Orthodox Church in Powroźnik (now the Catholic church) is a true gem among the wooden Orthodox churches in the Beskids. It is not only the oldest, as it was built in 1600, but also exceptionally valuable thanks to its well-preserved tripartite structure with large, bulbous shingled domes on the hip roof of a nave and over a steeple and with a small bulb on the straight roof of a chancel. Valuable are also polychromes inside (some from 1607) and an iconostasis - the whole deserved inscribing on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
