hundred years ago, the Lemkos from Łosie could be met on the roads
not only in the region but also in Moravia, Transylvania and the
Russian Empire lands: they even reached Riga! From their carts, they
sold grease i.e. a sort of lubricant manufactured in Łosie and based
on oil extracted there. Its derivatives were also sold as medicines.
About this specific craft and commercial expeditions of grease
sellers, we can learn a lot in a small open-air museum – Maziarska
Farm in Łosie.
