St. Andrew Church in Polna

In order to reach the wooden St. Andrew Church, at first, we have to walk across a small bridge over the stream and then go under a stone arch of a small gate. The unique atmosphere of this quiet place may be experienced best on a summer afternoon, when limes around are in bloom and in the air we can feel the scent of sun-warmed wood, of which the temple is built. Then, the church in Polna, built in the mid-16th century, looks most beautiful – although it is a modest and simple building without a steeple but only with a brick, openwork belfry.
